The hours and cost required to replace or install a new water line depend on a number of factors. We invite you to call and schedule an appointment with our team to discuss these factors including those listed below.
To avoid future problems – related to both money and your safety – it is important to replace or install a new water line right the first time. We hope you’ll recognize our commitment to quality when we meet for your free in-home or small business estimate.
Are there any obstructions that will make it difficult to reach the existing water main? Similarly, if you’re interested in an installation are there any obstructions, such as trees, that will need to be removed in order to make room for the water line?
How much dirt (and possibly concrete) needs to be removed to reach the existing water main? Or, how deep does a new hole need to be dug to install a new water main?
Will the installation require PVC pipe, or do you live in an area where copper pipes would be more appropriate?
The most common materials used to install a water main line are copper and PVC. Copper is frequently used in cooler climates, but is the more expensive option.

Rocco Monaco from Invisible Excavation (IE) was sent to my house on 11/7/24 because he is the best plumber to fix a problem that resulted from a faucet replacement by another plumber in the IE sister company, ARCO. My sink was cracked during faucet installation. It was immediately apparent to me that Rocco is very knowledgeable. He knew immediately what was causing the drain to leak and how to remedy the situation. He returned on 11/12/24 and installed a.new vanity sink top and connected the plumbing flawlessly. Rocco has incredible work ethics, amazing customer service, and he cares for the customer. He is someone who can be trusted because he sets very high standards for himself and is a true master of his craft.

Princesten Gordon was very informative and very polite. This was my first time with a tankless water heater, and Princesten took the time to go over and explain to me what he was doing and help me to figure out how to program it in the future. It was a pleasure to have him service my water heater and I look forward to doing business with him and Arco in the future.

Water line leaks and repairs can vary greatly in repair costs. On average, replacing the broken section of a water pipe can cost between $500-$1,000. If most of the (or the entire) water line needs replaced, it can cost between $1,500-$5,000. Leaks can cost between $150 to $350 to repair, and diagnosing leak locations can be close to an additional $100.
Because these are averages, please keep in mind that the real cost can be much less or much more, depending on the severity of the water line issue.
To get an actual cost for your water line situation, you need an expert assessment from a licensed plumber, like the team at Invisible Excavations.
Leaky pipes can be incredibly burdensome, and – at times – hard to pinpoint exactly where the root issue is. If you notice a leaking water pipe, it’s vital that you understand how to temporarily fix it until one of our plumbers arrives. Follow these steps:
If you don’t have any epoxy putty or pipe clamps, use several layers of duct tape.
These steps should stop the leak and temporarily fix the situation until a professional plumber arrives.
On average, repairs can take two to five hours. The actual amount of time it takes to completely fix a broken or leaking water pipe depends entirely on the specific situation. Once you receive an expert assessment on your waterline, a more accurate timeline can be discussed.
